that's what i get for being smug

I probably should have bought bought this shirt at the OKC marathon expo. At the the time I thought it quaint and felt secretly smug about the presence of all ten of my freshly painted toenails inside my beat up running shoes. Obviously this time I had done something right. Keeping my toenails was just a reward for my awesomeness (this was pre- marathon so I still had a shot at a respectable time). Even afterwards I considered it the booby prize. My time may have sucked but I still had all my toenails. In the ensuing three weeks no less than four of my pedicured babies have given up the ghost, the last of the them yesterday evening. I am taking solace in the fact that I never got around to writing the blog post I had contemplated in which I would have been slightly boastful and smug about the fact that I had all those toenails because than this post would have been even more humbling. Next time, I will consider my naked toes to be a badge of stamina that will have been properly earned with a new PR. In the meantime I wonder if the ladies at the pedicure salon would give me a discount, I mean, think of all the work I'm saving them.

That is awesome. Does that shirt come in mens sizes? I think my podiatrist husband should wear that to work as his uniform. :)

Sweetheart, maybe you should reconsider your exercise routine, losing any toenails is not acceptable for my favorite oldest daughter.
