cheater, cheater, cookie-eater

Much to my own chagrin, even after running a flipping marathon, I still have ten pounds of baby-weight to lose. (I see you rolling your eyes, Julie!) I am not fat and I know it, but I would like to be back to where I started. I felt really good about my body and I miss it. I'd really like to lose 15 but Julie is probably right when she insists that might be a bit unrealistic. Anyhow, after chatting with the same Julie yesterday whose own baby weight is falling off at an alarming speed I decided it was time to get serious. In the past I have always had some success with the South Beach diet and so back on the bandwagon I go. Breakfast went great, feeling pretty good about myself and off to a mommy meeting. Where I ate a cookie. Cookies are soooo not allowed. I totally forgot. I can't even remember that I'm dieting for two hours. Good grief. By lunch, I am back on the wagon. But this better work because I love a good cookie.

Nathan got a brownie with his dinner tonight and it was really really hard for me to resist it! As soon as I have one taste of something sweet, other than giant spoonfuls of peanut butter, I'm of the wagon for days. I certainly wouldn't say that my baby weight is falling off at an alarming speed. But I love being referred to in your blog.

I have to admit, you are not very motivating. The ONLY reason I would contemplate running a marathon is to lose weight or shape. I am too results oriented. Good luck with the diet, I am a weakling when it comes to cookies.

i have ten left also, but would like to get rid of 15. I hate dieting though. Good luck!

You are too funny! I saw you over the summer, and you look wonderful! Congratulations on the marathon! You are amazing.

I haven't quite started running yet:( But I really plan to. We have had someone in our family since the first part of September- it went through everyone (twice) I will let you know how it goes when I start.

Ugh...my baby is 4 and I still carry around 5 pounds that I can't seem to bust. My husband tells me it is perfect so why am I attached to my pre-baby body? That was 10 years ago, 5 lbs shouldn't be that big of a deal!
If you can run a marathon I am pretty sure you are looking pretty good even if you are not in "pre-baby" form. Way to go with the run and good luck with the "extra!"
