excuses get me nowhere

(me, in my next race)
Guess what I'm not doing today. Again. That's right running. It's been more than a week. Despite the best of intentions I did not run one single, solitary mile at Disneyworld. I walked a ton of them, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't count. Then we got stuck in Orlando an extra day, More Disney, no running. On the morning of our rescheduled flight home I woke up with the worst sore throat I've had in a while, coughing and sniffing. Yesterday was yet another snow day here in Wichita and my tired little boys and my sick self cocooned in the house. This morning, once again, I had the best of intentions. I was feeling a little better. I actually got up when the alarm went off at 4:30 but Ty had had a rough night and asked if he couldn't just go in to work early. Which was fine with me because despite the face that I am starting to feel better my head still feels like it weighs 50 lbs. I reasoned that I would go to the gym and run after we took Tommy to school. I could still get in a good ten miles. Except that when the time came, I just couldn't. Running is hard and I don't feel good. Lazy, lazy, lazy. My race is in 23 days and I have yet to run a 20. I have time to get in 2, maybe 3, if I hurry. Oh boy, I am NOT ready for this race. Not, not, not. We did, however, have a great time in Florida.

Sorry about the running, but glad you made it home and had a blast with Mickey!

If it makes you feel any better, I decided instead of running, I would do some lunges and donkey kicks. I am mores sore now that I ever am from running. boo. I'm such a wuss.
