full moon- thankful

It's been a rough several days around here. Last week Tommy had a few asthma attacks so severe that they ended in vomiting. Gross. But totally fixable thanks to oral steroids. Saturday morning, three hours before I was supposed to run the Turkey Trot ten mile he stared throwing up again but this time there was no coughing, just a stomach bug. Ty had to work on Saturday so I missed the race and spent the day washing bedding and emptying the bucket. Fun. By yesterday everybody was feeling better and off we went to church, which was lucky because I had to sing. This morning I was supposed to start my Hal Higdon approved training schedule for this. 90 minutes after I went to bed we heard strange noises coming from Johnny's room. I bet you can guess what he was doing all over his bedding and carpet. He proceeded to vomit at least once an hour all . night. long. I finally resulted to just holding him in the rocker in his room most of the night. When I was downstairs changing the laundry (because I was now completely out of clean sheets) at about two in the morning I glanced out the window and the full moon was shining across the lawn turning everything silver. It was just lovely. Every time I came down thereafter I was drawn to the window, just to look, just to see something beautiful, for a minute or so.  This morning is gray, my head is pounding and my little one is still having a really hard time but for a few minutes last night the view was serene and quiet and perfect.

I'm so sorry! I'm thankful that you were able to take a moment or two to enjoy the beauty that is around us, if we stop and take a breath. I miss you guys and hope you have a HEALTHY holiday this week. Next year, you can run the Turkey Trot with me!

I hate, hate, hate that your little dude has asthma. Not fair. I hope he's feeling better. And I love, love, love that you sing. Didn't know that! : )
